Our Construction Company’s Story
Randy And Kim Pederson founded RAK Construction, Inc. in 1989, working out of the basement of their home in Andover, MN. From those simple beginnings, they built one of the most respected construction companies in Minnesota. Their daughter, Brittney Castillo, grew up with RAK, learning from her parents how to operate a construction company with integrity and passion. Brittney and her husband, Trent, bought RAK Construction from Randy and Kim in 2025.
Brittney and Trent continue the RAK moto of treating everyone we work with like family. At RAK we care about each other, and we want our customers and subcontractors to feel that same closeness when they work with us. We laugh, we have fun, and we deliver outstanding results.
Our Affiliations
RAK Construction is well regarded in the industry and throughout Minnesota. We are fully licensed(BC009393) and insured, and we have excellent bonding capacity. We’re proud to be a union general contractor, participating in the Carpenters Union and Laborers’ Union.
RAK also holds contracts with the State of Minnesota and with numerous Minnesota counties. We hold a state-wide
Sourcewell contract with
Gordian, empowering us to complete your project faster and more effectively.
Our Commercial Construction Process
We’ve refined our process over the last three decades to give you the best possible commercial contracting experience.
Site Meeting
We and our trusted subcontractors meet with you to assess your project up close, reviewing your expectations, timeline, and budget.
Bid Phase
We request and receive quotes from our subcontractors, calculate in-house hours, and research material pricing. Then we create a comprehensive bid price, containing a detailed project description, for your review.
Pre-Construction Meeting
We conduct this on-site meeting if the size of the project calls for it or if it is your preference. Together with you and all tradespeople involved, we will review the project scope and timeline to ensure that all parties are on the same page.
Construction Phase
Our team works together to complete your project in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
Project Close Out
Your project is completed with a final walk through, punchlist items resolved, and invoicing and closeout documentation are submitted.
